AUDUSD Analysis & Live Chart
AUDUSD Fundamental Analysis
Bloomberg—The Australian dollar fell below $0.64 on Monday, marking its second day of losses as the US dollar continued to rise. Hopes for better global trade relations grew last week after US President Donald Trump suggested he might lower tariffs on China, and China removed some US goods from its 125% tariffs.
Still, investors were disappointed when China chose not to announce new stimulus measures today. In Australia, attention is now on the inflation report coming out Wednesday, which could influence the Reserve Bank of Australia’s next move.
The RBA is expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points in May as it prepares for possible risks from the new US tariffs.
AUDUSD Technical Analysis
FenzoFx—The AUD/USD currency pair bounced off the $0.6363 support level, supported by the 50-period simple moving average. As of this writing, AUD/USD has resumed its bullish trajectory, trading at approximately $0.6413.
The immediate resistance lies at $0.6444. From a technical perspective, the uptrend is likely to continue if AUD/USD closes and stabilizes above this resistance. In such a scenario, the next bullish target will likely be $0.6940, followed by $0.7200.
The Bearish Scenario
Please note that the bullish scenario would be invalidated if the price declines below $0.6363. Should this occur, a new bearish wave could emerge, targeting $0.6322.
